Prince of Ayodhya
Eldest son of Dasharatha, born to Kausalya, and in Valmiki a manifestation of Vishnu. Exiled for fourteen years, he crossed to Lanka to rescue Sita, slew Ravana, and returned to rule. His reign is remembered as Rama-rajya.
